I went to pick up her homework and she told me that she really wanted to go to school. We went with her friend, Bianca today to the piano class and she probably dying for someone to play with, she even agreed to sleep in Bianca’s home for a night. I was a bit sad because she was not even 5, and she already wanted to go for a slepe-over already. Nick said that it was good because that meant she was very independent. However, I thought that it was really sad.img_3540

We went to Elements to pick up Nick from work and Hayden came down and played with Chloe and Hailey. We bought that outfit in Texas and she really enjoy showing it off to her friends as the birthday party theme was “Culture costumes.”

When she walked to school, we asked her if her boots were comfy, she said “ok.” Which meant not ok, but she still insisted to walk in them.

She drew lots of things on the recycle bag and have also made a very special card. On the card, she wrote: My Mum is… kind . special. lovely (spell lovele), elegant (not sure if I was on this one)!

I can understand that why people do not want to have children. Even I am constantly asking myself does it really worth all the troubles. But one day, when I am old, this was the memories that I had with me. I might made more money, had a better career, and a better life if I did not have any children, but I sometimes I cannot really weight them on the scale. Life is about choice and once you make a choice, you live with it and make the most out of it.

Nick came home tonight and we tried to go and check in first and then we can be more relaxed tomorrow. Hailey climbed on a chair and turned all the light on and off. I told her off and with no TV, she was probably bored, she kept doing it and ignored me so I slapped her. Nick saw that and I told you that he was angry but he could not really show it in front of Hailey, so he said. “that was really hard.” I started to regret my behaviour and Hailey was crying and asked me ,” Why you hit me all the time?” Without thinking that she just did the same thing this afternoon to me when she was hungry. Chloe was an indirect cause for that. Sorry Hailey! Mommy is really sorry.

Ok, I know physical punishment was bad and it never worked, we should not do that to kids. It is going to damage them dadada… I promised I will not do it and I will really try. May be more sleep will prevent this happen.

Talking about sleeping, I have a one hour nap with Hailey this morning. She did not need to go to school, she was not well, and Ika told Chloe to playgroup. I really want to sleep a bit more, but Hailey already awake. So, I told her that if she slept with me in my bed for a little bit, will take her to Macdonald and she can have the pancake for breakfast. She slept with me in my bed for nearly 1.5 hours, first time in my life, and it was really nice. I can start to see why some parents enjoy sleeping with their kids. It is lovely to hear her breathing and although she kicked me several times, it was nice and I hope that we can do this again!

The character Tang has lots of stroke and she just kept erasing it all the time, thinking that it was not perfect enough. Most of her friends in school has easier last name and I really felt for her. I told her today that everyone could write their name and it is very essential that she could write hers as well.

It reminds me as well that when we were in the night safari in Singapore, we were watching a show and they were asking people where were they came from, she said she was a Chinese. So, when I told her that Chinese has Chinese name and she would have to write it with no choice, she said she did not want to be Chinese anymore.

Everyone took their turn to be ill last week. Talking about the Singapore trip… what can I say: Very exhausting for us. Hailey was an lovely angel on the plane but Chloe was… really a monster. She wanted to walk on the plane all the time and when she was not allowed to, she screamed and screamed and it did not help with the fact people on the plane thought that she was very cute kept playing with her. Thus, it gave Chloe, her majesty a big incentive to marched down the aisle and “greeted” her people.

We stayed in a service apartment, so we have to put Hailey and Chloe in a same room. We had to ask Hailey to go to bed while we put Chloe to sleep at the same time. Hailey probably was so tired that she fell asleep and she was so good that when Chloe woke up in the morning, she came to our room and asked us to give Chloe some milk. She has really proven that she was a big and helpful sister.

I really enjoy the Singapore trip, Hailey loves it so much and she said to us that it is “the best place on the Earth.” My friends Foong foong’s sister in Singapore was nice enough to take us for dinner in one of most prestigious hotel. However, me and Nick think that we would be so ashamed to go back there again as Miss Chloe’s behaviour was quite unacceptable. She was tired and then she decided she would eat on her own, which was ok until she discovered that she could not really eat with not not so “well function hands. She decided that she will throw everything on the floor and her head and her clothes were all covered with food.

Then, monster Chloe would like to go for a walk. Thus, daddy took her out, again, she would like to go out forever and was not happy for the fact that she would need to sit down. She decided to scratch Hailey, me and daddy. I think this tested Nick’s patient for the next level and he lost it —he scratched her back, leaving a small red mark on Chloe’s face. of course, a big scream followed by lost of tears.

Both Hailey and Chloe really enjoy the trip, they like the zoo a lot and Hailey liked the food a lot. Weather was ok, getting a taxi is proven harder than being a mom in some circumstances. Most important of all, Nick thought that with Hailey’s good behaviour this time, he was very confidence that he could take her for a trip on his own.

I felt so bad yesterday about making her practice piano and it lead to a lot of tears. I wonder if I ruined her for life for yesterday. I felt so so bad that I have decided that I will just let it go today. I just make her practice 15 minutes before the performance.

To be fair, I did not expect her to be excellent, she is just four and a half years old, but I think it is very important for her to learn that she have to do her best in everything, not just Ok. I wanted her to grow up to be someone that has a high standard, not just so so for everything.

Anyway, she was doing well in the performance, or I should say that she practiced a lot and she certainly played the best that she could.
